Answer: Some of the time Explanation: While many painters specialize in both interior and exterior painting, some focus exclusively on one or the other. Interior and exterior painting require different skills, materials, and equipment. Exterior painting involves dealing with weather conditions, different surfaces (brick, stucco, siding), and more durable paints, while interior painting focuses on finishes, detail work, and controlled environments. Some painters may choose to specialize based on preference, experience, or business focus. |

Answer: Some of the time Explanation: It depends on the painter and the painting company. Some painters, similar to some of our painting subcontractors, like to specialize in either interiors or exteriors because they believe they have more talent for one or the other.
We match painters that like exteriors with exteriors as often as possible as they are often more skilled at one of the jobs and therefore enjoy the job more. |

Answer: Most of the time Explanation: Not everyone limits themselves. Some people are extroverts and rather enjoy the interior work as it allows them personal connections.
Then introverts who like people yet would rather be outside where they dwell most.
I catch myself bouncing back and forth. I like making personal connections but often only want to stay working on the tasks at hand. |

T&K Remodelers |
Answer: Most of the time Explanation: Most painters will paint both interior and exterior. Personally, I've never met a painter who didn't paint both, but I do know painters who prefer interior over exterior, or exterior over interior. I've known painters over the years that just didn't want to climb anymore (usually as they got older) who no longer wanted to handle the heavy ladders necessary for tall exteriors, but were fine on a stepladder with a one-story house. Other times, new and young painters just don't have the resources yet, to buy the ladders, the sprayers, etc., that it really takes to properly advertise that they do exteriors. If you have to rent everything to perform the job, you quickly price yourself out of the market. Renting a sprayer and a couple of extension ladders can run you about $150 a day and up, depending on your market, and could run you close to $1,000 per week, quickly making them not worth it to bid and try to actually complete. I don't think it's ability, but more of a preference or a necessity until they are a bit more established, that would make a painter do one but not the other. Personally, since weather is always a factor, when we have an interior in the summer when it's terribly hot and it's been raining for a week, we love having an interior job to turn to! |
